Courtney graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2006.  She then graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in December 2008.  Upon becoming a licensed attorney in 2009, she began her legal career by joining Markow Walker, P.A.

Courtney primarily handles workers’ compensation matters, defending employers and carriers in countless claims before the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission, as well as, appeals to the Mississippi Court of Appeals.  In addition, she regularly pursues subrogation recovery on behalf of her clients in state and federal courts throughout Mississippi.  She tailors her defense handling of each claim to the preferences and needs of her client. Courtney represents a wide range of employers that span from small local businesses to large nationwide employers.  Regardless of the size of the business, Courtney understands the importance of efficient claims handling, while also being thorough, to get a favorable result for her workers’ compensation clients.

Courtney has been selected as a Rising Star and Top Rated Workers’ Compensation Attorney by Super Lawyers, and she has received an AV Preeminent Rating for the Highest Level of Professional Excellence from Martindale-Hubbell.  In addition to providing continuing education to her clients, Courtney has been a guest lecturer on workers’ compensation issues at numerous seminars sponsored by the University of Mississippi School of Law and the National Business Institute.  She volunteers her time as a guest judge for high school and college moot court competitions.

Courtney resides in Madison, Mississippi, with her husband, Jamie, and their daughters, Cassidy and Clara.  Courtney is a member of the Jackson-Metro Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi, and she enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family.  Courtney is an active member at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, and she is very involved with her children’s school PTO.
