Cecelia graduated from the Shackouls Honors College at Mississippi State University in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She was a President’s List scholar and was admitted to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Mortar Board National Honor Society. Cecelia obtained her legal education at the University of Mississippi School of Law. While in law school, she served as the Senior Articles Editor of the Mississippi Sports Law Review and as the Administrative Vice Chair of the Trial Advocacy Board. As part of her membership in the Trial Advocacy Board, Cecelia traveled and competed in regional mock trial competitions for both the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. In 2016, Cecelia was inducted into the National Order of Barristers.
Following her graduation from law school, Cecelia worked in the Child Support Division of the Mississippi Department of Human Services, where she provided legal representation on behalf of the State of Mississippi in all child support matters related to paternity and support order establishment and enforcement. Cecelia joined Markow Walker in 2019, where she now focuses her practice primarily on insurance defense and civil litigation.
Cecelia is also a committed charity athlete for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She has spent over ten years organizing and participating in fundraising events benefitting St. Jude, and she runs in the annual St. Jude Marathon to raise awareness for childhood cancer. Away from the office, Cecelia enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her husband Weathers and their three dogs Lucy, Charlie, and Samson.
